"The vision for this work is to create moments of awe and beauty that engender love for self, others and the world."
Tradition & Lineage
What tradition does this work come from?
We are affiliated with a large network of more than 150 facilitators in the United States and abroad, established by Dr. Armand Bytton. Dr. Bytton is a direct descendant and wisdom-keeper of two ancient Amazonian shamanic lineages, deeply rooted in spiritual traditions focused on connecting individuals with themselves, others, and the broader universe.
Who is Dr. Armand Bytton?
Dr. Bytton holds doctorates in both psychology and sociology from the University of San Martine in Lima, Peru, bridging academic understanding with spiritual practice. He has partnered with experts from prestigious institutions worldwide to develop our facilitation methodology, and for over fifty years has translated and adapted this ancestral knowledge for modern cultures around the globe, making shamanic spiritual teachings accessible and relevant to people seeking deeper meaning and healing.
Facilitator Training & Certification
What is Carol's training and background?
Carol began her healing journey over fifteen years ago by completing a three-year certification program with The Four Winds, specializing in shamanic energy medicine. Following this, she participated in her first ceremony with Dr. Armand Bytton, which inspired her to pursue facilitation. One year later, she was certified to hold groups using Dr. Bytton's methods, joining his organization as a facilitator. Over the past fourteen years, she has collaborated extensively with Dr. Bytton, accruing twelve years of facilitation experience, conducting individual and group ceremonies for women, men, and coed participants. She maintains ongoing professional development through monthly training sessions, quarterly group workshops, and an annual three-night intensive retreat.
What is Doug's training and background?
Doug began his journey five years ago, meeting Carol and, within six months, leaving his previous career to dedicate himself to the practice. Under Carol's mentorship and Dr. Bytton's intensive training program, Doug was certified to hold groups using Dr. Bytton's methods. Doug now co-facilitates with Carol and leads his own groups, including a quarterly men's group.
Ceremony Experience
How much experience do Carol and Doug have?
In the last 12 years, Carol has facilitated more than 650 sacred ceremonies. Since Doug joined Carol five years ago, they organize two or three group ceremonies each month, typically involving around 15 participants, along with private sessions, a routine they have maintained consistently for five years.
Contraindications & Safety Screening
What happens before I can participate?
Before joining a ceremony, every new participant has a personal conversation with Carol, by Zoom or phone, typically lasting 30 to 45 minutes. This is not a formality; it is the beginning of our relationship with you. We take the time to understand where you are, what brought you here, and what you are hoping to find. We also explore your intentions together, making sure this experience is aligned with your genuine path of spiritual growth and personal development.
What is reviewed during the intake interview?
During our conversation, Carol takes time to understand your full personal story, your relationships, your upbringing, and your current circumstances. We give particular attention to health-related factors, including any medications you take, your mental health history, and cardiovascular conditions, as these may affect your eligibility or the level of support you need. We ask for complete openness here, not to judge, but because your safety and well-being are our first responsibility, always.
What if I am in crisis or need individual support first?
Through this process, Carol and Doug can honestly assess whether a group setting is the right fit for you right now, or whether individual support would serve you better first. If you are going through a crisis or don't yet have the external support around you that this work requires, we will gently guide you toward one-on-one care until you are ready. This is not a door closing, it is us caring enough to walk alongside you at the right pace. Our deepest intention is to create an environment that is safe, nurturing, and truly transformative for every person who joins us.
Support During Ceremony
How are participants supported throughout the ceremony?
Your safety is our first priority, always. Carol and Doug open each ceremony gently, building depth and intensity with great care and intentionality, never rushing, always reading the room. When emotions arise, we are right there with you, offering compassionate, experienced guidance through whatever comes up. At its core, this is a spiritual practice, one designed to help you reconnect with yourself and with a sense of greater purpose. We keep our groups deliberately small so that every person receives attentive, personal support, and no one ever feels alone in the process.
Integration Support
What happens after the ceremony ends?
Once the main ceremony concludes, participants attend a group integration session to share their experiences and receive advice on incorporating new insights into everyday life. The intention is to help individuals anchor the spiritual connections and sense of higher purpose discovered during the ceremony into their daily routines.
How long does the integration process take?
Emotional processing frequently extends into the days and weeks following the ceremony. Participants are encouraged to remain attentive to their feelings and allow additional connections and realizations to develop, as this process involves gradually untangling personal beliefs, conditioning, and behavioral patterns. Through this ongoing integration, participants deepen their spiritual journey and understanding of their place within the wider world.
One-on-One Support
Can I access personal support outside of the group ceremony?
Our relationship with you does not begin at the door and end when the circle closes. Carol holds a personal conversation with each participant before the ceremony to ensure you feel prepared, seen, and held. During the ceremony itself, both Carol and Doug remain fully present and accessible to you. Afterward, we continue to be available, for a follow-up conversation, a check-in, or deeper one-on-one support. We also encourage everyone to build connections within our community, because healing is richer when it is shared with others on the same path.
Touch, Consent & Boundaries
How are consent and personal boundaries handled?
Safety, respect, consent, and clear boundaries are at the heart of everything we hold. Before each ceremony, Carol and Doug clearly outline the standards and agreements that make this space sacred and secure for everyone present. We take this seriously, not as a set of rules, but as an act of care for each person in the circle. When these boundaries are honored, something beautiful becomes possible: genuine connection, real vulnerability, and spiritual openness, with yourself and with the community around you. Your privacy is always protected.
